rpp Senado nagsasayang ng oras sa imbestigasyon ng PI

Nagsasayang lamang umano ng oras ang Senado sa pagsasagawa nito ng imbestigasyon kaugnay ng isinusulong na People’s Initiative na naglalayong amyendahan ang Konstitusyon.

Ito ang sinabi nina Deputy Speaker at Quezon 2nd district Rep. David 'Jay-jay' Suarez at Bataan 1st District Rep. Geraldine Roman na natanong kaugnay ng isinasagawang pagdinig ng Senado.

Ang naturang pagsisiyasat ng Senate Committee on Electoral Reforms and People’s Participation ay pinamumunuan ni Senator Imee Marcos.

"Yes, it's a circus," ani Suarez ng matanong sa isinasagawang imbestigasyon ng Senado.

"I mean, it's [moot and] academic. Nag-rule na 'yung Comelec (Commission on Elections) kahapon en banc, suspended na muna 'yung signatures, So technically, 'yung [PI] wala na 'yun," sabi ni Suarez.

“So I mean, why have a hearing?... let's move forward with the Senate bill, let's move forward with the House resolution, just so that we can push the discussion faster," wika ni Suarez na pinatutungkulan ang Resolution of Both Houses (RBH) No. 6 na inihain ng Senado.

Hindi rin kumbinsido si Roman, chairperson of the House Committee on Women and Gender Equality, sa kailangan pang magsagawa ng imbestigasyon ng Senado sa naturang isyu.

"It's hard to read the good senator's [Imee Marcos] intentions, but my personal opinion is that it is a waste of time. It's moot and academic because the committee (Comelec) has already stated its position for the PI to stop," saad niya. 

"So I think we would rather, well, it would be better if the Senate focuses its time and attention to RBH No.6, if they're really intent and sincere to push for constitutional defense," punto ni Roman. 

Umaasa naman si Suarez na hindi gagamiting palusot ng Senado ang imbestigasyon sa PI para patagalin pa ang pagtalakay sa resolusyon ng Senado kaugnay ng pag-amyenda sa Konstitusyon.

"I hope it's not a political strategy that they're employing to delay discussion on charter amendments, coming up with all sorts of reasons again," dagdag pa ni Suarez. (END) wantta join us? sure, manure...
