Romualdez today lauded Gilas Pilipinas for shocking the whole world with their 89-80 win against world no. 6 Latvia in the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament early Thursday, saying it was their unwavering spirit to represent the Philippine flag that contributed immensely to the victory.

The match happened in Arena Riga in Latvia where Gilas Pilipinas, led by coach Tim Cone, tested their mettle against the formidable European team.
