Ipinapanukala ngayon ni Paranaque Rep. Gus Tambunting na magkaroon ang lahat ng ospital sa bansa ng mga motorcycle medical emergency first responders.

Ipinunto ng mambabatas sa kaniyang House Bill 9253 o Motorcycle Medical Emergency First Responders Act, ang kahalagahan ng mabilis na pag responde sa mga emergency para makapagsalba ng buhay.

Ngunit sa kasalukuyan, hamon ngayon sa bansa ang mobility ng emergency medical services dahil na rin sa matinding daloy ng trapiko at pagpunta sa mga isolated na lugar.

“To address these concerns, this measure seeks to provide for motorcycle medical emergency first-responders in public and private hospitals and medical facilities. Motorcycle first responders can radically reduce response time and improve patient care both in urban centers and far-flung areas. As motorcycles offer an easier navigation on the road, two-wheeled motorcycle paramedics can weave through heavy traffic in urban areas and can also traverse rough roads in the rural areas.” Saad sa explanatory note ng panukala.

Kaya naman kung maisabatas ang panukala, ang mga pribado at pampublikong ospital at medical facility ay magkakaroon ng motorcycle medical emergency first responder na mas magpapaikli ng oras ng biyahe patungo sa emergency situation.

Kada motorcycle first responder unit ay dapat mayroong communication equipment, gamot at medical equipment kasama ang first aid and trauma kit, oxygen at automated external defibrillator (AED)

Ang minimum na kwalipikasyon naman para sa motorcycle first responder ay marunong magmaneho ng motor at may lisensya, at kayang magsagawa ng first aid, mag monitor ng vital sign, mag-administer ng oxygen therapy, cardiopulmonary resuscitation o CPR at gumamit ng AED.

Kailangan din silang sumailalim sa Standard First Aid, BLS, emergency medical technician (EMT) at ACLS  training na ibibigay ng isang DOH-Certified training provider

Ang DOH, TESDA katuwang ang mga non-government organization gaya ng Philippine Red Cross ang maglalatag ng medical training course habang ang LTO naman ang magsasagawa ng safe driving course para sa motorsiklo at qualifying exam sa mga nais pumasok bilang motorcycle first responder.
