Kamara nakikipag-tulungan kay PBBM para agad mapalaya 17 Pinoy na dinukot ng mga pirata sa Red Sea

Nakikipagtulungan ang Kamara de Representantes sa administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. para sa agarang pagpalaya sa 17 Pilipinong manlalayag na dinukot ng Houthi rebels sa Red Sea.

Ayon kay Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez lubhang ikinabahala ng mga miyembro ng Kamara ang insidente at nananawagan ang mga ito para sa agarang pagpapalaya sa mga Pilipino.

“We, at the House of Representatives, are deeply concerned about the distressing situation involving 17 of our brave Filipino seafarers who are currently held hostage by Houthi rebels in the Red Sea. This situation demands our immediate and focused attention," ani Speaker Romualdez, lider ng Kamara na may mahigit 300 miyembro.

"The House of Representatives is closely working with President Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos to ensure the safety and well-being of our fellow Filipinos, which is of the highest importance," dagdag pa nito.

Noong Lunes, naglabas ang Houti rebels na nakabase sa Yemen ng isang video footage na nagpapakita na kanilang nakuha ng isang barko na ayon sa kanila ay pagmamay-ari ng isang Israeli company. Pero mali ang impormasyong ito ayon sa mga balita.

Ang barko, na ang mga miyembro ng crew ay mula sa Pilipinas, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Mexico, at Romania, ay patungo sa India mula sa Turkey ng sapilitang kunin ng mga rebelde.

Ayon kay Speaker Romualdez susuportahan ng Kamara ang mga hakbang upang agad na mapalaya ang mga hostage na Pilipino.

"We are in full support of the Department of Foreign Affairs' efforts to secure their immediate and safe release," sabi ni Romualdez. 

"We call on the international community to join us in condemning this act of piracy and to assist in any way possible to resolve this crisis. The Philippines is committed to working tirelessly to ensure our citizens' safe return and address the underlying issues that lead to such incidents," dagdag pa nito.
