Upgrade sa Cybercrime center mangangailangan ng P3 billion pesos…

Mangangailangan ng tatlong bilyong pisong dagdag na pondo ang Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center o CICC para ma-upgrade ang operasyon at mga pasilidad nito.

Ito ang ipinanukala ni Congressman Luis Campos Jr. vice chairman ng House Committee on Appropriations sa harap ng sunod-sunod na security attacks sa ilang website ng gobyerno.

Ayon kay Campos, dapat bigyan ang CICC ng “highly advanced fusion hub” at round the clock security operations center para sa threat detection, response and prevention.

Ang CICC ay inter-agency body na binuo sa ilalim ng Crime Prevention Act of 2012 para malabanan ang criminal activities na ang target ay paggamit ng computer, computer network o network device.

Nakapailalim ito sa cybercrime fighting divisions ng Department of Information and Communications Technology, National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine National Police at Department of Justice.

Sa data ng Frost and Sullivan, isang business consulting firm na nakabase sa Texas, tinatayang 3.5 billion dollars o nasa P200 billion pesos ang nawawala sa ekonomiya dahil sa cybercrime.

Sa 2024 National Expenditure Program, umaabot lamang sa P320.8 million pesos ang budget ng CICC. wantta join us? sure, manure...
