SOLON AFFIRMS PHILIPPINES’ FAVORABLE INTERNATIONAL POSITION ON WPS DISPUTE

1-RIDER Party-list Rep. Rodge Gutierrez declared yesterday that the Philippines holds a favorable position on the international stage regarding its dispute with China over the West Philippine Sea (WPS).

Rep. Gutierrez also emphasized the collective responsibility of Filipinos in preserving the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

(“To all our kababayan, ‘yung issue po ng WPS, seryoso po ito. Let’s not let politics muddle the issue. Panalo po tayo sa international stage, atin ito,” Gutierrez said during the regular press conference at the House of Representatives, referring to the WPS.)

He urged the Filipinos to do what we can on our part to preserve this territory of ours.

Gutierrez issued the statement following President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s declaration that the Philippines has no intention of using water cannons, despite ongoing Chinese aggression in the WPS.
