Speaker Romualdez tiniyak proteksyon ng karapatan ng sumukong si Gov Mamba

Tiniyak ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez na mapoproteksyunan ang karapatan ni Cagayan Gov. Manuel Mamba na boluntaryong sumuko sa Kamara de Representantes matapos itong i-cite in contempt ng dalawang komite.

Nagdesisyon ang House Committees on Public Accounts at on Suffrage and Electoral Reforms na i-cite in contempt si Mamba dahil sa paulit-ulit nitong pagkabigo na pumunta sa pagdinig ng komite na iniimbestigahan ang iligal na paggamit umano ng pondo ng probinsya noong panahon ng kampanya para sa eleksyon noong 2022.

“Governor Mamba's choice to voluntarily surrender is a commendable stride in safeguarding the integrity of our democratic institutions. It signifies his readiness to collaborate with the House's proceedings and underscores a steadfast commitment to the fundamental principles of accountability and transparency that form the cornerstone of our democracy,” ani Speaker Romualdez, lider ng 311 miyembro ng Kamara.

Siniguro rin ni Speaker Romualdez na gagawa ng mga hakbang upang masiguro na mapapangalagaan si Mamba habang nasa kustodiya ng Kamara.

“The House of Representatives is fully committed to adhering to all established legal procedures and safeguards throughout this process, ensuring fairness and due process,” giit ni Speaker Romualdez.

Sa pagdinig noong Agosto 17, nagdesisyon ang mga komite na i-cite in contempt si Mamba.
