Ibinida ng NEDA sa mga mambabatas na kasabay ng pagbangon ng ekonomiya ng bansa mula epekto ng pandemiya ay gumaganda rin ang sitwasyon ng ating labor market
Sa pagharap ng DBCC sa Kamara sinabi ni NEDA Sec. Arsenio Balisacan na nakapagtala ng year on year net employment creation ng 2.3 million o katumbas ng 48.8 million domestic employment hanggang nitong June 2023.
Bumaba rin aniya ng unemployment rate sa 4.5% nitong Hunyo kumpara sa 6% noong kaparehong buwan noong nakaraang taon.
Aminado naman ang NEDA na nanatili pa ring hamon ang kalidad ng empleyo.
Mas bumaba kasi aniya ng bilang ng mga nagtatrabaho sa pribadong sektor kung ikukumpara sa vulnerable sector o yung unpaid family work at self-employed.
Bumaba rin aniya ang bilang ng mga high skilled workers.
“The share of salary workers in total employment at 6.1% as of the first semester of 2023 has yet to recover to pre-pandemic figure. This is mainly due to the decline in the proportion of workers in private establishments and expansion of those employment, considered vulnerable or the unpaid family work and self-employed work…Although the share of middle skilled workers increased in recent years, from 52.1 percent in 2019 to 56.7 percent as of the first half of 2023, the share of high-skilled workers has been in a downward trend” paliwanag ni Balisacan.
