PANUKALA NA GINAGAWANG REKISITOS ANG PAGTATANIM NG PUNO BAGO MAKAKUHA NG BUILDING PERMIT, APRUBADO NG KAPULUNGAN

Inaprubahan ngayong Miyerkules sa Kapulungan ng mga Kinatawan ang panukala na gagawing rekisitos ang Tree Planting Plan (TPP) mula sa lahat ng aplikante ng building permit para sa residential, commercial, industrial, at public building development projects na layong makatulong na mapagaan ang epekto ng pagbabago ng klima at pagkapinsala ng kalikasan.

Sa nagkakaisang pabor na botong 266, inaprubahan ng Kapulungan sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa ang House Bill (HB) No. 8569 ngayong Lunes.

“In requiring a Tree Planting Plan (TPP) to secure building permits, we aim to enhance environmental quality, mitigate the effects of climate change and preserve the environment for present and future generations,” ayon kay Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez.

“Under the bill, any person, firm, corporation, department, office, bureau, agency or instrumentality of the government intending to construct, alter, repair or convert any building or structure, is required to set aside, and properly maintain in said property, areas adequate for planting and maintaining trees and flora. House Bill No. 8569 also specifies the contents of the TPP, including the species to be planted,” ani Speaker Romualdez.

Isinasaand sa Section 4 ng panukalang batas, lalo na sa pagbibigay ng kahalagahan sa mga katutubong uri ng mga puno, at ang lokasyon, klima, at topograpiya ng lugar. Subalit inirerekomenda rin ang pagtatanim ng halaman na non-vigorously growing endemic ornaments, o mga puno at mga namumunga ng prutas, sa mga residential lots.
