Lokal na pamahalaan mas malaki matatanggap na pondo sa ilalim ng 2024 budget—Speaker Romualdez

Mas malaki umano ang pondong makukuha ng mga lokal na pamahalaan sa ilalim ng P5.768-trilyong panukalang pambansang pondo para sa 2024, ayon kay Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez.

Sa kanyang mensahe sa awarding ng Seal of Good Local Governance para sa mga natatanging lokal na pamahalaan sa Manila Hotel, sinabi ni Speaker Romualdez na bukas ang kaniyang tanggapan para sa mas pinaigting na kolaborasyon sa pagitan ng LGU at Kamara de Representantes.

Sinabi ni Speaker Romualdez sa may 1,000 lokal at nasyunal na opisyal na dumalo sa pagbibigay parangal na nakatakdang lagdaan ng Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang panukalang pondo para sa susunod na taon sa mga susunod na araw.

Binuo aniya ng Kamara ang pambansang pondo “to bring about balanced development, propagating progress not just in urban areas but across the archipelago, so that every Filipino, from the northernmost provinces to the southernmost islands, can thrive with peace and abundance.”

Inilaan aniya ito para sa mga proyektong pang imprastraktura, reporma sa edukasyon, pagpapabuti ng serbisyong pangkalusugan, pagpapaunlad ng mga negosyo at suporta sa edukasyon.

“It also contains provisions for the effective implementation of the Mandanas ruling, ensuring that local governments have the resources at the local level. We hope that the inclusion of these provisions will encourage more LGUs to endeavor to take on the challenge of attaining the Seal of Good Local Governance,” sabi ni Speaker Romualdez.

Batay sa Mandanas ruling ng Korte Suprema, na itinulak ni Batangas Gov. Hermilando Mandanas, lumaki ang parte na nakalaan para sa mga LGU mula sa kita ng pamahalaang nasyunal.

Hinimok ng lider ng higit 300 mambabatas ang mga opisyal ng lokal na pamahalaan na asaming makakuha ng Seal of Good Local Governance na iginagawad ng Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

“We understand that undertaking this endeavor may seem difficult for first-timers. What today’s awardees show is that it can be done,” wika niya

Nangako rin ito ng suporta sa mga opisyal na inaasam na bigyang kapangyarihan ang mga kapwa Pilipino para makamit ang mga inaasam sa buhay.

“My office is open to establishing an institutional mechanism that will enable and facilitate better coordination between the House of Representatives and local government units,” saad niya

Binati naman ni Speaker Romualdez ang may 493 na LGU at kanilang mga opisyal sa pagpaso sa good governance seal ngayong taon.

“I can only imagine the challenges you faced in meeting all the criteria for the award, but through perseverance, ingenuity and grace from the Almighty, you were able to successfully clear these hurdles. Your success at institutionalizing good governance in your respective jurisdictions is a bright beacon illuminating the trail for other LGUs to follow,” aniya.

Kasabay nito ay pinuri at pinasalamatan  ang DILG para sa mga natatangi nitong mga programa.

“The Seal of Good Local Governance Awards is a welcome break from the ineffective punitive method through which traditional public administration enforced compliance. With the Seal, the establishment of good governance has been incentivized, providing qualified LGUs with the wherewithal by which more and better citizen-centric reforms may be pursued and sustained,” sabi pa ni Speaker Romualdez.

Hinikayat ng lider ng Kamara ang mga national at local officials na ipagpatuloy ang pagtutulungan at  gawing inspirasyon ang bawat isa para sa isang matatag at inklusibong ekonomiya ng bansa.
